Saville's numerical formats hide the arithmetic inside a shape: a pyramid, a grid, a network of nodes, a run of figures. Find the rule and the number falls out.
Free to start. Every item is generated fresh, marked with a full worked solution, and ranked on a 1–9 stanine band that recalibrates as more candidates practise.

What it measures
Swift aptitude measures numerical rule discovery rather than calculation. Each figure encodes one arithmetic relationship — an operation between two cells, a multiplier applied across a row, a chain running through a network, a second difference walking down a series — and your job is to identify it from complete examples and apply it to the incomplete one.
The format
Where marks are lost
Confirming the rule on one example instead of two. Most rules that fit the first figure fit it by accident; the second figure is what tells you whether the operation is addition or multiplication, and which pair of cells feeds it. Checking the second example costs five seconds and saves the item.
Why practise here
All four Saville figure formats, interleaved the way the real battery serves them
Every item states the rule in words and shows it verified against a second figure
Options built close to the answer, including the value the wrong operation would produce
Digit-level items included, where the answer can legitimately be zero — a case most practice banks quietly exclude
A stanine band that recalibrates as more candidates run the exercise
Where you will meet it
Hiring stages where this format is commonly used. Persona Prep is not affiliated with Saville Assessment and does not reproduce their questions — we build practice in the same format, from our own generators.
With Persona Prep Pro
One subscription covers the whole assessment library, not just this exercise — because almost nobody is invited to sit only one module.
The full aptitude library
SHL Verify, Aon cut-e, Hogan and Saville formats — numerical, verbal, inductive, deductive, mechanical, checking and the interactive modules.
A rank, not just a score
Every run is placed on a 1–9 stanine band that recalibrates as the candidate pool grows, so you know your position.
A course per exercise
What it measures, the trap that costs marks, and worked items from every format — then the exercise itself.
Unlimited fresh items
Everything is generated, so you never run out and never memorise a bank.
Written + voice AI coach
Reads your results across exercises and tells you which two to fix first.

Swift is Saville Assessment's short-form aptitude battery. Its numerical formats present the arithmetic inside a figure — a pyramid, a row grid, a network of nodes, or a run of numbers — where complete examples establish a rule and one figure has a value missing.
Find a candidate rule on the first complete figure, then verify it on a second before applying it. Most rules that fit one example fit by coincidence; the second figure is what tells you whether the operation is addition or multiplication and which cells feed it. That check costs a few seconds and saves the item.
Swift batteries are deliberately short — commonly under ten minutes per section, with formats interleaved so you switch rule types from item to item. Our practice runs timed three-minute blocks with the same interleaving.
No. Wave is Saville's personality questionnaire; Swift is the aptitude battery. Candidates are often asked to complete both, and Persona Prep provides practice for each.
SHL
Verify Numerical Reasoning
Timed data interpretation in the Verify format: a table or chart, one question, four options, and a clock that does not wait. Every item here is generated fresh and marked with a full worked solution.
SHL
Verify Inductive Reasoning
A row of figures changes by one consistent rule. Find the rule, pick what comes next. No numbers, no words, no cultural loading — which is exactly why employers like it.
Aon
cut-e (Aon) assessment battery
cut-e is not one test — it is a set of very short, very fast interactive modules, and each one punishes a different habit. Practise them the way they are actually served.
Playable sample questions, worked solutions, instant feedback.
