Emirates pilot assessment practice

Long-haul flag carriers screen hard because training seats are scarce. Candidates in Emirates pilot selection widely report a cut-e style aptitude battery — the same interactive formats as European selections, with the same rule: interface familiarity is scored like ability.

Free to start. Every item is generated fresh, marked with a full worked solution, and ranked on a 1–9 stanine band that recalibrates as more candidates practise.

What it measures

What Emirates Pilot Assessment is actually testing

Wide-body operators select for the same substrate as everyone else — divided attention, monitoring under drift, spatial orientation, disciplined numeracy — but with less tolerance for a weak module, because the downstream training investment is larger. A battery profile with one visible hole is usually enough to end a long-haul candidacy that would have survived a low-cost one.

The format

How the real assessment runs

Online battery
Aptitude modules served remotely ahead of the assessment day, unsupervised with a completion window. Scores frame everything that follows.
Interactive modules
Monitoring, multitasking, reaction and spatial orientation as fixed-pace live interfaces — the formats that cannot be prepared for by reading.
Numeracy and deduction
Applied numeracy and constraint-grid logic in the computed cut-e style; every distractor is a specific misreading, not noise.
Assessment day
Sim evaluation, group exercise and panel interview follow for those the battery clears — stages where coaching helps, but only if you get there.

Where marks are lost

The trap that costs the most marks

Preparing for the interview and winging the battery. Long-haul candidates tend to be experienced pilots who assume hours in the seat cover the aptitude screen — but the modules measure interface-specific speed, not airmanship, and a 4,000-hour captain sits the monitoring module with the same cold start as a cadet. The battery does not read logbooks.

With Persona Prep Pro

Everything you need to walk in ready

One subscription covers the whole assessment library, not just this exercise — because almost nobody is invited to sit only one module.

The full aptitude library

SHL Verify, Aon cut-e, Hogan and Saville formats — numerical, verbal, inductive, deductive, mechanical, checking and the interactive modules.

A rank, not just a score

Every run is placed on a 1–9 stanine band that recalibrates as the candidate pool grows, so you know your position.

A course per exercise

What it measures, the trap that costs marks, and worked items from every format — then the exercise itself.

Emirates Pilot Assessmentfrequently asked questions

What tests are in the Emirates pilot assessment?

Candidates in Emirates pilot selection widely report an online cut-e style aptitude battery — interactive modules such as monitoring, multitasking and spatial orientation plus numeracy and deduction — ahead of an assessment day with sim evaluation and interviews. Selection processes change, so treat your invitation as the definitive module list.

Do experienced pilots need to prepare for the aptitude battery?

Yes — more than they expect. The modules measure interface-specific speed under divided attention, not airmanship, so a 4,000-hour captain starts the monitoring module as cold as a cadet. Flight hours help at the sim stage; the online battery only rewards having held these interfaces before.

Is Persona Prep affiliated with Emirates or Aon?

No. Persona Prep is an independent practice platform with no connection to Emirates, Aon or any airline or test publisher. The formats here are rebuilt from scratch — nobody's actual test items are reproduced.

What score do I need on the Emirates online tests?

Airlines read scores as percentiles against their own comparison groups and never publish thresholds, so no universal pass mark exists. What is knowable is your own profile: our 1–9 stanine rank per module shows which format would drag the battery down, so you can fix it before a selection board sees it.
