The PwC Personality Test: Format and What They Want
PwC's application journey blends behavioural/personality questionnaires, situational judgement and game-based assessments, all mapped to the firm's values and the competencies of the role. Here is what each stage measures and how to arrive prepared rather than surprised.

What PwC screens for
PwC looks for a coherent behavioural profile: relationship-building, learning agility, resilience, integrity and a commercial mindset. The personality questionnaire cross-checks the story from your CV and interviews and flags contradictions — recruiters trust a consistent profile far more than a “perfect” one.
The questionnaire format
Expect a forced-choice style questionnaire: you prioritise one statement over another instead of rating each item independently. This produces a profile with real peaks and valleys plus a consistency indicator. There is no universally “correct” answer — only the profile that fits the role you applied for, answered coherently.
How to prepare
The two things that move your result: knowing your own trait ranking and answering consistently under time pressure. Run a full forced-choice practice test, read the report, note where you naturally sit and which dimensions feel uncomfortable — then you answer in a natural, coherent flow on the real day instead of second-guessing. For the game-based and situational stages, practise choosing the most effective action, not the most flattering one.
