Personality Test Questions and Answers — the Honest Version

You searched for answers, so here is the straight one: there is no answer key. Sites selling “correct answers” to the ADEPT-15, OPQ32 or Hogan are selling something that cannot exist, because these tests don't score answers — they score profiles against roles. The same answer that wins a sales job sinks a compliance application. What follows is what actually works.

The real tension — which one is more like you?

1/10

Both answers are strengths — that is the trap. The format forces a trade-off, and the pattern of your trade-offs is the profile.

Why an answer key is impossible

Take a real-style item: “I double-check every detail” vs “I move fast and correct course”. Which is correct? For an audit role, the first. For a startup sales role, the second. For a project manager, the recruiter wants a believable mix across a hundred items — and a candidate who answers “detail” on every screen scores as rigid, not as conscientious. The test's output isn't a grade; it's a shape, matched against a role profile. No fixed set of answers produces the right shape for every role, and memorised answers produce the one thing every scoring engine flags: inconsistency.

What recruiters actually see

A percentile (or sten) per dimension, a consistency indicator, and increasingly a question-level risk view. On forced-choice tests (ADEPT-15, OPQ32, Saville Wave), inflating everything is mathematically impossible; on agree/disagree banks (Hogan), reversed items catch it. The interview that follows quotes your profile back at you — answers you can't own out loud collapse in the room.

The strategy that replaces the answer key

1. Know your real profile before the test does. Run a full mock, read the report — your peaks, valleys and hesitations. 2. Know your target role's profile. Sales reads assertiveness and drive; compliance reads rigour and rule-orientation; know which trade-offs your role rewards. 3. Answer as your best consistent self. Not a caricature of the role — your own profile, told coherently across 100+ items, emphasising the true strengths that overlap with the role. That combination — self-knowledge plus role-knowledge plus consistency — is the only “answer” that survives both the algorithm and the interview.

Persona Prep exists for exactly that: full adaptive mocks of the five major formats, a report showing your profile against your role's target zones, question-level risk flags, and an AI coach to rehearse the follow-up interview. A full practice test is free, no card required.
